Frequently Asked Questions

01

Why choose an equine photographer instead of a regular photographer?

Because horses aren't like people. Timing, body language, ear position, expression, stance, and light all matter. I know what to watch for and when to give a horse a little more time to settle into the moment.

02

How should I prepare my horse for our session?

A clean, well-groomed horse always photographs beautifully. I recommend bathing if needed, cleaning tack, and making sure your horse is comfortable and relaxed. I'll send you a preparation guide before your session so you know exactly what to expect.

03

What should I wear for a horse and rider photoshoot?

Wear something that feels like you. Western, English, or simple and neutral can all work. I'll help you choose clothing that fits the location, your horse, and the look you want for your photographs.

04

Where do horse and rider sessions take place?

Sessions can take place at your barn, a private property, or an outdoor location we choose together. I photograph throughout Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and the Southeast, and I'll help you choose a location that works for your horse and the photographs you want.

05

Does my horse need to be trained or “perfect”?

Not at all. Your horse doesn't need to stand perfectly or behave flawlessly. I work with your horse as they are and guide you through the session so it stays calm, practical, and comfortable. We give your horse time when they need it.

06

What if I feel awkward in front of the camera?

You're not alone. Most people feel that way at first. I'll guide you through the session so you always know what to do. The goal isn't stiff posing — it's photographs that feel natural and look like you.
